I've been working on Imagizine now for over 3 years,
and I've enjoyed
it even if it's been difficult at times. However, the time has now
come for me to take my leave and resign as the Editor of Imagizine as
there are a bunch of other things which require my attention.
Crisstilynn will be the new Editor, and I hope that she will enjoy it
as much as I have. Imagizine will continue to give you updated and
information about what's going on in the world and behind the scenes
in Imagica, mingled with miscellaneous things like gossip and trivia.
I wish you a good continuance of the year 2004 =)

Code & World Update
===================
In the beginning of December 2003 Imagica had a code update where several
bugfixes were implemented. There was also a world update with several new
zones added. You can find a complete list of the zones that were added
in the Building section of Imagizine.
New Immortal
===================
In the end of November Metgod was promoted to Builder and will assist
the Master Builder with creating new zones, updating the old ones and
looking through zones before world updates. He will also be someone
that new builders can turn to for questions and assistance. Since his
promotion he's shown very good work and has since added to his duties
by becoming the Asst Master Builder, assisting with the house building
as well as coding for Imagica.

Did you know that Larathriel's pet python is really a peace loving
creature
named Erwin? His favorite meal consists of butterflies, which helps to
keep the population of those little critters under control. Erwin once
became so frustrated with being attacked that he chased Feisty through
the entire backyard.

The Black Mistress of the Ebony Tower and the Mistress of the Night that
can be seen walking the Enchanted Forest are in fact sisters. They are
not speaking for years since a disagreement, and the Mistress of the
Night
created her Enchanted Forest so that they could be apart. No one knows
what the disagreement was about, but there are rumours that it had to do
with a man.

Moonspell Manor is Lunah's childhood home. It is where she grew up as a
mortal, raised by her grandfather. If you look well you may find some of
Lunah's old things in the Manor. Would anyone dare a guess on which room
was once hers?

Back in the old days, when
Imagica was still a new world with few inhabitants,
the city of Rome was one of the first to spring up, and quickly became
one of
the largest and most prosperous cities in the land.
The Caesar family founded the city in the early days of the world, and
the
family kept ruling the city through the centuries as Imagica grew and
evolved.
The Royal Family of Imagica soon came to regard the Caesars as a threat
against
their rule, and there have been many battles between the two families
through
time.
Recently the current king, Welmar the Great, was notified of whispers in
Rome
about a plan to seize power from the Royal Family. The king found this
the
perfect opportunity to wage a war against Rome, and he quickly gathered
his
troops and sent them on their way.
We may never know if the rumors told were true, for the troops came down
upon
Rome like a summer storm, and the city was in ruins before anyone had
time to
realize what was happening. The current Caesar was killed, and the Gods
that
protected him were banished. A group of magicians have been hired by King
Welmar
to watch over the ruined city, making sure that no relative of the Caesar
family
try to regain power and rebuild the city.
Yet all that remains to watch over is a city in ruins with a defeated
people
walking the demolished streets.
Imagica's first and greatest city has been levelled with the ground,
to never rise again.

Use those RP flags!
During the last Imagica update, we were given the roleplay flag. You may
have seen the flag behind my name in the who list. It looks like this: (rp).
There was a concern voiced by several mortals that we immortals miss
roleplay
by those who aren't known for their roleplay skills, and that we watch
those
who don't necessarily want to be watched.
To activate your roleplay flag, use the command 'norp'. This will turn
your
flag on and off, much the same as the quest flag does. When your flag is
on,
the REI team will be alerted that you are either actively roleplaying or
that
you are open to roleplay situations being 'thrust' upon you.
Do you prefer to be 'left alone'? Are you on a leveling or money making
rampage? That's fine too. Simply use the 'norp' command to turn your flag
back off and you won't be bothered by the REI.
Most of all, have fun and play well.

Imagica's world was updated in the beginning of December 2003 with
several
new zones as well as a few updated versions of current zones. Amongst
other
zones we got a new hometown River Bend - a half elfin town - with a
newbie zone - The Deep Forest. The map was extended further east than
before as a new part of the lands were discovered.

Over the last year, quite a few zones have been added and updated.
We are happy to say that the builders are doing a great job bringing
in new and original zones.
Lunah and Metgod are currently looking at the world as it is. We are in
the process of updating and fixing old zones (including replacing stock
zones with new zones) and working on making a balanced mobile table.
This table will help us even out the stats of mobiles. There are actually
level 50 mobs that are stronger than level 70 mobs, and there are level
60
mobs that have much more experience than level 95 mobiles who have more
experience than level 100 mobiles.

As many of our players have noticed, many of our
classes have problems such
as getting no useful skills for a long time, then suddenly getting them
in
bulk etc. or getting their last skill at a rather low 40-ish level etc.
Finally, a fix is on the way. All classes will change a bit when it goes
online and some may, especially in the lower levels, have become very
different and probably easier to play.
The general idea is to give a bunch of lowlevel skills early on and from
there space the rest out over the remaining levels. Also care is taken
that
before each major bump you get something useful to help you get over it.
I
hope this will make life easier on starting characters and will keep it
more interesting at higher levels.
Considering the nature of these changes, they will likely also affect
existing characters, but you will not lose any skills.
And last but not least, special attention is given to the Bard and Rogue
classes, who are in desperate need of an upgrade. They should become
better
equipped to face the hardships of our world.

A new clan has been approved and awaits only the
creation of their skills
and spells before being implemented.
Jirrik of the Order of the Blue Crescent has applied for clan approval
and
it has been given. His clan is based on the values of honor and loyalty.

Due to Lunah's lack of time as of late Shayla and Metgod have offered
to help with the building and maintenance of houses in Imagica (for
which Lunah is very grateful).
Your requests should still be e-mailed to Lunah at Lunah at email.jimagica.net
and she will assign the request to one of the members in the housing
team to be built. You will be contacted to pay your house once it's
been built and can pay to any Immortal who will inform the housing
team, they will then activate your house so that you can move in.
As some of you know it has been the plans for a long time to do a
large house update to rationalise the houses in Imagica. Due to
lack of time this has been delayed greatly, but with the new forces
the hopes are that this will happen in a not too distant future.
More information on this will follow in due time.

The Quest Team has been dedicated to providing interesting events for
players to enjoy. Our goal is to provide two quests a month. Ideas aren't
always easy to come by, though. So, if you have an idea, feel free to
e-mail
it to the Quest Team at quests at email.jimagica.net.
Special quests may also be requested to gain certain favors, such as a
candle lit dinner or a picnic on the beach. Personal quests cannot be
used to gain new, unique items.

The Small Village of Leorn
In the Dragon mountains one can come upon the small village of Leorn.
Long ago this was no more than a few odd houses huddled between the
mountains, but it has since grown into a small village. Dwarves and men
live together in peace, allowing any other race to enter their village.
In recent years this village has also been the base for the clan
Sentinels
of Soraya, as the original founders were brought up in the village.
The Dojo
In the south of Imagica, an order of monks has been discovered. These
monks practice martial arts, trying to achieve total serenity through
training. Each monk has been trying to get there in a separate part,
and thus, even though they may look the same, they are not the same.
Only the strongest people are accepted in this Dojo. Rumors fly about
a powerful item that the master sometimes wears.
The Forest Chapel
Huddled in the lush growth of the forest the Forest Chapel was founded by
a young Priest some hundred years ago. He was a god fearing man and saw
the beauty in every living thing. The Chapel was built to be a place for
those of similar disposition to come together and worship the Gods and
the
Nature. These days the Chapel is flourishing with several Priests and
Priestesses living there, praying and growing things in their gardens.
Amazon Stronghold
The amazons came to the lands of Imagica in distant times, but kept to
themselves and few knew of their existence. They are suspicious of others
and for this reason built themselves a stronghold up in the trees. During
the years some travellers were rumoured to have been lost when they were
travelling around the dryad forest. Some explorers were intrigued and
decided
to investigate, ending up finding the amazon stronghold.
